As, however, it seems likely that number of the petitioners decided to send of the petition to various M.P.'s., and we may therefore have further letters on the subject, I thought I would write and ask you for a report on how matters now stand with regard to the petition. We assume you have deferred sending it to the Secretary of State until you have had an answer to your telegram No.1184. May we take it that, once this answer has been given, we may soon expect to receive the petition officially?
